For many the AMP Project remains a foreign territory. So, what is AMP really? Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) is a framework designed to accelerate and speed up content delivery on mobile devices. It is an Open Source project and like any other OSS allowed to be further manipulated and perfected. One of the main intentions behind the project is to provide content publishers with ability for quicker delivery of articles on mobile devices.
Behind the AMP Framework
AMP is a framework as previously indicated. It assists with development of rich yet cohesive mobile web pages that retrofit each viewport area. A framework consists of three main components:
- Code – the AMP HTML code is comprised of specific tags allowed for content manipulation and better delivery in the form of mobile web pages.
- JavaScript – fairly self-explanatory. However the difference here is that no third-party JS code is currently allowed within the AMP framework.
