The installation process of the ShareMe Social Media Plugin for Joomla 1.5.x. is actually quite easy. Follow the usual steps for installing a plugin via your Joomla Administration Panel and you should be up and running in a matter of minutes. Just in case you get stuck during the installation process follow the short step-by-step instructions below on how to install and configure this particular plugin for your individual Joomla installation.
Installing ShareMe Plugin for Joomla 1.5.x
1. Download the latest copy of ShareMe Plugin for Joomla 1.5.x and leave it sitting on your Desktop.
2. Log in to your Joomla! Administration Panel by visiting http://www.mycoolwebsite.com/administration in your favorite browser’s address bar.
3. Select Extensions – Install/Uninstall from the top navigation menu.
4. Browse for the downloadable package that you stored on your Desktop in Step #1 above and choose it. If everything goes well then you’re doing fantastic so far. If your installation failed feel free to contact me for some help (I do not support this Plugin personally though).
5. Once the installation is completed browse to Extensions – Plugin Manager from the top navigation drop-down menu.
6. In the Filter box type ShareMe to locate the actual plugin. DO NOT turn it on just yet as it has not been configured properly.
7. Click on the actual Plugin to open its configuration settings. Populate and make any necessary changes in the fields that you have been provided with and then you can check the Yes radio button next to Enable.
8. You’re done!
This particular plugin for Joomla is actually fairly straight forward and easy to navigate/configure in comparison to many others out there. Once you have configured and Enabled the plugin itself check your Joomla! website to make sure that everything looks ok. The worse that could happen is that your frontpage goes blank (just kidding).
